Michael David Evans is one of America’s strongest defenders of Israel in the U.S. He is an award-winning journalist. His articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Jerusalem Post, and newspapers throughout the U.S. and the world.

Mike Evans was the first U.S. journalist to challenge Yasser Arafat in 1988 at the 43rd General Assembly of the United Nations concerning Israel’s biblical rights in a specially convened press conference. He also was the first U.S. journalist to challenge then-Secretary of State James Baker at a specially convened press conference at the Middle East Peace Summit in Madrid, Spain in 1991.

Mr. Evans is a #1 New York Times bestselling author. In the last four years, three of his books became New York Times bestsellers. Evans is also a #1 Amazon and B. Dalton Books bestseller. Mr. Evans is an award-winning producer, having produced and hosted more than a dozen pro-Israel specials in the United States that have been seen by more than 30 million Americans. Mr. Evans’ specials are pro-Israel campaign specials. His newest campaign, Vote Save Jerusalem, is a grassroots campaign to mobilize one million Christians to oppose the Road Map to Peace. Evans’ books have been read by millions. His first book, Israel: America’s Key to Survival, was endorsed by Prime Minister Menachem Begin. He has written numerous books in defense of Israel such as Save Jerusalem, Let My People Go, and Jerusalem Betrayed.

Mike Evans has been a bridge builder between Israel and Christian Zionists for decades since the days of Prime Minister Menachem Begin, whom Evans worked closely with developing a plan to build support between Israel and the Christian Zionists in the United States.

Evans is also the Founder of America’s largest pro-Israel grassroots Christian Coalition - The Jerusalem Prayer Team. Over 300 of America’s most well-known evangelical leaders serve on the Board of Governors of the Jerusalem Prayer Team. This includes such names as Dr. Pat Robertson, Joel Osteen, Dr. Jack Graham, Anne Graham Lotz, Tim LaHaye, John Maxwell, Jack Hayford, and Pat Boone.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert inaugurated The Jerusalem Prayer Team in 2002 in Dallas, Texas. Evans has been a close friend of Mr. Olmert’s for several decades. Prime Minister Olmert said of Mike Evans, “You are a true ambassador and friend of Jerusalem. You are a personal friend of mine, and I highly value your contribution and exemplary assistance to the City of Jerusalem and to me personally.”

Mr. Evans has also been a close friend of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the same period of time. Evans help Benjamin Netanyahu gain his first political assignment by recommending him to Menachem Begin. Prime Minister Netanyahu, describing Mr. Evans has said, “In your devotion to Israel, you have consistently demonstrated the moral clarity that is necessary to defend Israel against the lies and distortions of its enemies... Now that you have launched the Evangelical Israel Broadcasting Network and the Jerusalem Prayer Team, I look forward to strengthening our friendship on your many future visits to Jerusalem.”

Evans is the Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Corrie ten Boom Holocaust Center in Haarlem, Holland. The ten Boom family conducted a 100-year weekly prayer meeting from 1844-1944 for the Jewish people to return to their land. It ended when the family was taken to the concentration camps where most members died for saving over 800 Jewish lives.

Evans is considered a pioneer in the pro-Israel Christian Zionist Movement and has founded numerous enterprises such as the Jerusalem World News, a daily internet newspaper read by hundreds of thousands of Christian Zionists, The Evans’ Institute of Middle East Studies, etc.

He also founded The National Prayer Breakfast in Honor of Israel which began in 1988 in Washington, DC. His speech entitled, “A Proclamation: a Blessing on Israel” became an official document of the 92nd Congress.

Mr. Evans has received numerous awards for his support of Israel by Mayor Teddy Kollek, Mayor Ehud Olmert, and by the Ministry of Tourism who presented him with the Ambassador Award in 2002.

Mr. Evans’ wife, Carolyn, is the Founder and Chairwoman of the Christian Woman of the Year Association. The organization represents the vast majority of evangelical women of leadership in America and has presented the Christian Woman of the Year Award to such women as Mother Teresa, Ruth Graham, and a host of others.

Mike and Carolyn Evans reside near Fort Worth, Texas. They have four children and six grandchildren.
